Instructional Design and Instructional Technology

Since August, 2010, Brook has worked full time coordinating the design and development of online courses for the University of North Carolina system, first as an instructional technology consultant at UNC-Greensboro’s Office of Online Learning and currently as an instructional designer in the Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications division at NC State. His division produces award-winning online learning environments that utilize the full capacity of the web with multimedia, interactive learning objects, engaging discussion, and immersive learning environments.

Brook plays a dual role in working with faculty members to develop an instructional design and strategy for their online courses, then managing a production team of developers, graphic designers and multimedia professionals to create digital content and a web-based platform for the course. During the last two years he has led sessions on instructional technology at the Lilly Conference on College and University Teaching and the UPCEA South Regional Conference.
